Rev. Dr. 'Debo Onabanjo
Rev. ‘Debo was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, in West Africa before relocating to the US in 2005 and holds dual citizenship. He has been married to his amiable wife, ‘Lola for over 20 years and they are proud parents of three sons—Joshua, Daniel, and Samuel. He is a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and the University of Lagos, two of the premier universities in Nigeria, and attended The Methodist Theological Institute, Sagamu, Ogun State, Nigeria, for his Seminary Training. He has also completed required Master’s Level Courses at the United Theological Seminary, Dayton, Ohio, where he also completed the required coursework for the conferment of the Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) Degree in May 2022.
Rev. ‘Debo was ordained a Priest in the Methodist Church Nigeria, the first Christian denomination in Nigeria in August 2012. He is an Elder in the Global Methodist Church serving in the Allegheny West Annual Conference. He has been in ministry since 1995 when he first became a fully accredited Lay Preacher and brings together unique experiences from many years of bivocational and full- time ministry both in Nigeria and the USA. He is the Pastor of Mt. Zion Global Methodist Church and Sixth Avenue Global Methodist Church both in Lancaster, OH and is actively involved with the Conference Prayer Team. He served as a Delegate to the Convening General Conference of the GMC held in Costa Rica in 2024. He currently lives with his family in Blacklick, Ohio.
